As business owners, wives, and/or mothers, its essential for us to remain focused on WHY we’re doing all that we do. It’s easy as we balance these roles to push aside the reason why we’re doing it and keep running through the motions.
This is going to be a short post, but extremely important. The reason or the WHY behind our decisions or actions is essential to the success of each of the roles we play every day. If there is no focus or determination to find success in our roles, most often than not we don’t succeed, or if we do, it took a hell of a long time to get there.
I know it’s hard. Some days it’s hard to see past the next hour or two. Trust me, I get it!
But, it’s essential to have a vision of the direction you’re heading; with business, with being a wife, a mom, anything and WHY you’re doing it! Be intentional with your time and learn to value your time and fill it with what is most valuable to you.
If you aren’t quite sure where to begin with this, start with this:
- Dream. Take some time to think about where you want to be in 1 year, 5 years, and 10 years. Really get specific with this. Even talk to your husband and see where you envision your family.
- Work backwards. After figuring out where you want to be within your roles, work back and determine what needs to happen in order to see those goals through, starting with today.
- Write it down. In order for these goals and your future way of life to come to fruition, means it needs to become your foremost thought. Start your day looking over your goals and vision board and let it be the fire that fuels you through each hour of every day.
- Watch it come to life. Whether you believe it right now or not, whenever you focus on something even if you don’t actively pursue it every second, it happens. Our thoughts are powerful forces and over the years I have seen my goals accomplished even when I wasn’t 100% focused on them every day.
As entrepreneurs, wives, mothers and most of the time, just ourselves, it’s essential to not become pushed around by our “to-do’s” and get swallowed up by others goals or vision.
Figure out your WHY, and run with it. Let it fuel you and push you further in every role you play in life!
